Red Dead Redemption 3 Is Inevitable, Says Arthur Morgan Actor

Expert Verified By

'Expect No Arthur, His Story Has Been Told"

Story Highlights
  • Red Dead Redemption is one of the most popular Rockstar Games franchises.
  • The actor who played the role of Arthur Morgan believes a third entry is certain to happen.
  • However, he also thinks that Arthur Morgan will not be in the third game.

Now that the first GTA 6 trailer has been released, the developers have confirmed that the game won’t be released before 2025. Additionally, the game is skipping the PC platform.

This trailer has also raised doubts about the future of Red Dead Redemption, with many questioning whether Rockstar Games will eventually return to this IP. While there is no answer yet, the actor who played Arthur Morgan believes Red Dead Redemption 3 is certain to happen.

Why it matters: Red Dead Redemption 2 sold over 57 million units, setting a new benchmark for this IP.

Following the trailer, Roger Clark, who played the leading role in Red Dead Redemption 2, made a tweet stating that GTA 5 Online should not be discontinued after the release of GTA 6.

With both games being based in different cities, they offer a different experience for fans, and GTA 5 still holds up. However, one fan chimed in and asked Roger Clark about Red Dead Redemption 3.

Fans believe the actor might know something about Rockstar Games’ plans. While he did not comment on this assumption, Roger Clark said:

“I’m certain we will see RDR3 one day.”

However, he pointed out that Arthur Morgan is unlikely to return since his story has already been told.

RDR 2 Open World

Not too long ago, the CEO of Take-Two Interactive also stated that a third entry in the Red Dead Redemption franchise is inevitable and will surely happen someday.

Therefore, another game seems like a safe bet. Since Rockstar Games is taking over five years to create new games, the studio is expected to stick with its biggest IPs, one of which is Red Dead Redemption.

We also agree with Roger Clark’s statement. It is only a matter of time before Rockstar Games creates another heartfelt Wild West narrative in the Red Dead Redemption universe, but this is unlikely to happen within the next few years.

For now, fans should anticipate GTA 6, the first new Grand Theft Auto title in over a decade.
