New APUs With RDNA 3 Graphics!

Recent leaks have revealed a WHQL-certified AMD chipset driver update. The leaked chipset drivers, as it turns out, are not for the current Ryzen 7000 series but support the yet-to-be-released Ryzen 8000 series APU lineup.

According to HXL, these leaked drivers give us a hint about the potential release of a new APU lineup from AMD soon. Furthermore, the drivers having WHQL support confirm their compatibility with Microsoft Windows.

The upcoming Ryzen 8000 series will be based on the same Zen 4 architecture that the current Ryzen 7000 series is manufactured on. However, the integrated graphics on the new Ryzen 8000 series is expected to receive a big upgrade to the RDNA 3 GPU architecture.

AMD is rumored to be working on releasing four new APU SKUs under the new Ryzen 8000 series. This will include the Ryzen 7 8700G featuring 8 cores, Ryzen 5 8600G and Ryzen 8500G featuring 6 cores, and Ryzen 3 8300G featuring 4 cores.

AMD is also expected to introduce a hybrid core layout with the cheaper Ryzen 8500G and 8300G. The company is expected to deliver two Zen 4 cores and 4 Zen 4c cores on the Ryzen 8500G. Meanwhile, the Ryzen 8300G is expected to ship with a single Zen 4 core and three Zen 4c cores.

The Ryzen 8000 series would be an upgrade over the current Ryzen 5000 series APUs since they will be combined with the high-performance cores of Zen 4 and Radeon 700M integrated graphics, including the Radeon 780M, Radeon 760M, and the Radeon 740M.

While no official release date has been announced for the APUs, AMD will probably make an announcement sometime next year during CES on 9 January.
