16% & 7% Faster Than Nvidia Competition On Average!

The performance charts for the upcoming Radeon RX 7800 XT and 7700 XT have recently surfaced, providing a deep look into the performance of the two new graphics cards from AMD when compared to the GeForce RTX 4070 and RTX 4060 Ti.

According to the Argentine publication HD Tecnología, the benchmark data provided in their charts are directly from AMD’s review guide.

Looking at the benchmark data, the Radeon RX 7800 XT is up to 23% faster than the GeForce RTX 4070 in pure rasterization performance, including AAA games like Cyberpunk 2077, Borderlands 3, and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2.

In other games, the performance difference between the two competing cards ended up in favor of AMD but remained under 15%. The AMD Radeon RX 7700 XT also outperformed its rival, the GeForce RTX 4060 Ti 16 GB, by up to 31%.

The exact version of the GeForce RTX 4060 Ti used for the benchmarks is not currently known. However, it is expected to be the 16GB version used during the AMD Gamescom presentation.

As for the ray tracing performance, Nvidia pulls ahead as expected. On average, the Radeon RX 7800 XT is around 11.55% slower than the GeForce RTX 4070 Ti in ray tracing workloads.

The performance gap is further expanded in Cyberpunk 2077, where the GeForce RTX 4070 leads by 69%.

Compared to the GeForce RTX 4060 Ti, the Radeon RX 7700 XT is only 5.4% slower in ray tracing performance. However, the performance gap is increased when Cyberpunk 2077 is included, as seen above.

It should be noted that ray tracing titles chosen for these benchmarks are mostly optimized for AMD hardware. Additionally, not much information about the kind of hardware or resolution for the tests was provided.

Nonetheless, the Radeon RX 7800 XT and 7700 XT provide superior rasterization performance for their $499 and $449 asking price.
