Naruto Storm Connections Lets Players Block Xbox Series S Users In Matchmaking

Due to 30FPS Cap On Xbox Series S!

The Naruto Storm franchise is returning with a new entry after seven years, introducing popular characters from the Boruto series, an original story mode, and several changes to the gameplay mechanics.

Following the release of the PS5 and Xbox Series S|X, Naruto X Boruto Ultimate Ninja Storm Connections also marks the first iteration of the series at 60FPS on consoles since 2008.

However, Bandai Namco confirms Microsoft’s budget Xbox Series S will not run the game at 60FPS, which means that Xbox Series X players are given the option to block matchmaking with Xbox Series S users.

Why it matters: Both Xbox Series S|X consoles are current-generation releases, but the ability to block players may lead to a less-than-ideal experience on the budget Microsoft console.

Bandai Namco has recently detailed the resolution and frame rate targets of Naruto X Boruto Ultimate Ninja Storm Connections on various consoles.

The PS5 and Xbox Series X target 60FPS at 4K resolution. On the other hand, all the last-generation consoles target 30FPS at different resolutions based on hardware capabilities.

Surprisingly, the Xbox Series S is only limited to 30FPS at 1440p. All Xbox users still have the option to play against each other, but Bandai Namco confirms Xbox Series X players would be locked at 30FPS when playing against last-generation users.

Therefore, Bandai Namco provides the option to block matchmaking with 30FPS consoles to ensure a consistent 60FPS experience across all modes for Xbox Series X users.

Previously, developer CyberConnect 2 skipped 60FPS for Demon Slayer: The Hinokami Chronicles on the Xbox Series S. However, in this case, the game’s online modes were universally capped at 30FPS to ensure an even playing field for all console users.

In addition to the new details about frame rates and resolution, Bandai Namco has recently confirmed the entire roster for Naruto X Boruto Ultimate Ninja Storm Connections.

With over 130 playable ninjas, the Naruto game boasts the largest roster in the 15-year history of the Naruto Storm franchise.

Naruto X Boruto Ultimate Ninja Storm Connections is confirmed for a November 17 release date.

The recent announcement has detailed several different editions of the game, including the most expensive Premium Collector’s Edition for dedicated fans of the CyberConnect 2 Naruto games.
