Insomniac Games Confirms Three AAA Games In Development

Multiplayer Game Aside From Spider-Man 2 And Wolverine!

Insomniac Games has produced remarkable games for over two decades, and the studio is preparing to release Marvel’s Spider-Man 2. The developer is also working on Marvel’s Wolverine, but a third AAA game has now been confirmed.

This information comes from Erin Eberhardt, who works at Insomniac Games and revealed during a Full Sail University seminar that she is the Project Director for this new AAA game.

Why it matters: The studio is among PlayStation’s finest studios and has produced high-quality games like Spider-Man. Insomniac Games has also released games much faster than other developers.

While not much is currently known about this unannounced AAA project, job listings have suggested that the studio is developing a multiplayer game with PVE combat.

Insomniac Games has previously worked on multiplayer game modes for the Resistance franchise. However, the developer has focused on single-player games for the last five years.

According to job listings, the project is a brand-new IP. It will likely be part of PlayStation’s push toward live service games, with the gaming giant hoping to deliver over ten games in the genre by 2026.

However, the third AAA title is unlikely to arrive anytime soon. Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is confirmed for an October 20 release.

Following its release, the studio will be occupied with Marvel’s Wolverine, reportedly scheduled for a 2024 release. Therefore, the unannounced AAA game could arrive as early as 2025 and as late as 2027.
