Assassin’s Creed Mirage is the next entry in Ubisoft’s popular Assassin’s Creed franchise. The title was first announced on Assassin’s Creed’s 15th anniversary, alongside multiple other games.
The latest issue of the French JeuxVideo Magazine revealed that Assassin’s Creed Mirage will now be the first title to be featured on the Infinity platform instead of Codename Red.
For those not familiar, Infinity will be a hub for future Assassin’s Creed titles. This hub will connect future Assassin’s Creed releases, even offering modes like multiplayer components going forward.
Assassin’s Creed Mirage releasing on the Infinity platform could mean a potential delay for the game. There were also previous reports of the Assassin’s Creed Mirage getting delayed alongside Crew Motorfest.
Since its reveal last year, fans have not seen any gameplay of the game despite it being slated for release in 2023. The lack of gameplay details has fans worried, while many are wondering about the current state of the game.
Assassin’s Creed Mirage was initially planned as a DLC for Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, serving as a backstory for Basim. The project later evolved into a separate title, featuring traditional Assassin’s Creed gameplay instead of the new RPG format.
The game will have a smaller scale and a character-driven story, exploring the origin of Basim in his homeland, Baghdad. It will also be the first Assassin’s Creed game released in nearly three years since Assassin’s Creed Valhalla.
While many might be disappointed at the lack of current buzz surrounding the game, fans will likely see more gameplay at Ubisoft Forward in June. This event could also bring a release date announcement, along with more information on the future of Assassin’s Creed.
