Capcom Committed To Breaking Sales Record For The Fiscal Year

2 Months To Go!

Thanks to world-famous titles like Resident Evil, Monster Hunter, and Street Fighter, to mention a few, Capcom has established itself as a name we will never forget in the gaming industry.

It appears that Capcom will conclude the fiscal year on a high note, as they have recently stated in their most recent financial report, which was published on Monday, that they anticipate selling more than 40 million game units this fiscal year, ending on March 31, 2023, which would be the highest ever they have achieved in a fiscal year.

Capcom New Titles

According to Capcom, they have sold 29.1 million copies in the nine months leading up to December 31, 2022, which is an increase of 3.3 million units over the same period the previous year.

Thanks to ongoing sales of their catalog titles and the upcoming Resident Evil 4 Remake, which is set to arrive on March 24—one week before the fiscal year ends on March 31—Capcom appears to be highly confident that they will sell 40 million units this fiscal year.

Capcom anticipates that digital downloads will account for 90% of these sales and hard media for 10%. Catalog sales are expected to account for 75% of revenues, with new releases accounting for 25% of total sales.

We are excited and looking forward to whether Capcom achieves its goal. This is the limited information we have for now, but we will be looking for more news regarding Capcom in the future.

On that note, what do you think of Capcom’s statement that it will sell more than 40 million units by the conclusion of the current fiscal year? Do you believe they will accomplish this target with just two months left? Let us know in the comments section.
