Nintendo In Talks With Suppliers For Production of Next-Gen Console

Nintendo likely to launch its next console in 2024

Nintendo released its Nintendo Switch almost six years ago, in March 2017. Nintendo Switch proved a commercial success after selling nearly 114 million units since its global launch.

However, for quite some time now, fans have been eager to hear about what’s next in line for them, and we finally have a clue regarding it now. According to the latest rumors, Nintendo is talking with multiple suppliers for its next-gen Nintendo Switch 2 console.

This information comes after a statement from Nintendo’s President “Shuntaro Furukawa.” In a press conference, when he was asked about Nintendo’s plan for the next-generation console strategy, he said,

“We want to provide entertainment that is different from others.”

Keeping this and the recent revolutions in the gaming industry in mind, it would not be wrong to say that something big can be expected from Nintendo very soon.

As far as this ongoing year is concerned, there is not even a slight chance that the new console will be released. Nintendo also wishes to continue Switch sales this year and estimates sales to be around 20 million units. This step will make Nintendo Switch surpass the NES era as the most extended console generation for Nintendo.

The next-gen console will probably launch in the second half of 2024, given everything proceeds according to Nintendo’s plan. If not, the launch can be delayed to even late 2025.
