Xbox To Organize Major Event In Early 2023, According To Industry Insider

Major Xbox Showcase In Early 2023?

Xbox was not present at one of the most significant yearly gaming events this year, The Game Awards 2022. Even before the event, there were rumors that Xbox would not be making an appearance at The Game Awards due to the scrutiny it faces from regulatory bodies like F.T.C. and C.M.A. regarding its acquisition of Activision and Blizzard.

Unfortunately, that happened, and there was no sign of Xbox exclusives or upcoming games at The Game Awards 2022, but no actual reason for not coming to the show was revealed.

Still, it disappointed the Xbox fans that despite having many highly anticipated first-party games announced, Xbox didn’t show up at the event to reveal a firm release date for its games.

But that’s where the twist comes; now there are rumors that Xbox is planning its event in early 2023 to showcase its significant games coming in 2023. The statement comes from a well-known industry insider, Rand al Thor 19, in his latest The Xbox Two podcast titled ‘Xbox Games Showcase Soon?’ with Jez Corden. Where Rand says that:

I actually was hit up by a couple of people I know that told me that they are hearing Xbox is putting on or planning, two different people who said that they [Xbox] are putting on a show or something is happening early 2023.

It is clear from the above statement that Xbox might be planning or organizing a major event in early 2023. And it makes sense with highly anticipated exclusives like Forza Motorsport, S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chernobyl, Starfield, Redfall, and Avowed announced for 2023, it is only fair that Xbox gives fans a solid release date to look forward to.

Other than the statement from Rand earlier this month, Vice President of Xbox Games marketing at Microsoft, Aaron Greenberg, shares a clip of all the upcoming Xbox games with a quote tweet stating that ‘don’t worry you will not have to wait too long for what’s next from us.’

This adds some substance to these ongoing rumors of Xbox planning a showcase as early as 2023. While all the puzzle pieces fit perfectly and strongly suggest that an exclusive showcase from Xbox is on its way, it will be wise to take this news with a grain of salt as there is still no official confirmation from Xbox or Microsoft about any future showcase.

So, what are your thoughts about this? Are you excited to see an Xbox-exclusive event? Let us know in the comment section below.
