Even AI Companions Can Now Hold Your Hand In Gaming!

Story Highlight
  • Xbox has revealed a new AI companion that can help you finish games by coaching you to improve your skills.
  • The AI can serve as your personal sidekick to help you grow and enjoy every bit of a game that you may miss otherwise.
  • Co-pilot for gaming has been pitched as a concept in the latest episode of the official Xbox podcast.

Xbox has unveiled a new AI companion that can help you finish games. The co-pilot for gaming is an AI sidekick that can help you adapt to gameplay by giving suggestions and providing guides, essentially helping you explore every nook and cranny of titles.

Why it matters: The co-pilot for gaming is just an AI concept for now that intends to help gamers by providing them assistance throughout gameplay.

Xbox revealed the concept for the AI during its official Xbox podcast, confirming that Microsoft was working to integrate its co-pilot into gaming. The sidekick can provide critical feedback after analyzing your fumbles during online matches or re-download a game for you.

Xbox’s Jason argued that his talks with developers confirmed that most players miss notable sidequests and other gameplay details. So, the AI can also help the player explore and experience every bit of a title.

[AI] should be able to help you kind of get further in gaming, be your companion, and help connect you with families and communities.

And Xbox’s CVP of gaming AI jokes that the companion can chat with you and even trash talk you if that is what you really need. It can break the barrier that makes it hard for new players to connect with others and understand games.

These are just test concepts for now, but Microsoft will likely bring co-pilot for gaming as a feature later. However, the reception of gamers has been quite mixed for now.
