Story Highlight
  • 2024 was disastrous for Warner Bros. Games.
  • Following that, it looks like the studio wants to make a comeback in the industry.
  • The studio wants to work on tentpole franchises like Mortal Kombat and Hogwarts Legacy to guarantee success.

2024 has been Warner Bros.’s worst year, as the studio lost over $384 million on games. Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League was among the biggest failures last year, as the title not only missed its sales expectations but also caused the studio to lose $200 million.

Following a disastrous year, Warner Bros. appears to have some plans for 2025. The studio plans to bet on iconic franchises like Mortal Kombat and even new releases like Hogwarts Legacy.

Why it matters: A sequel to Hogwarts Legacy is already in the production phase and has been treated as a big priority at the studio.
