Expecting New Records For Fiscal Year 2025!

Take-Two recently released its earnings report, which confirms GTA 5 has sold over 185 million units. The gaming giant is also working on GTA 6, the next title in the iconic gaming IP.

Following several years of success, Take-Two is ready to break even more records with GTA 6. While a release date has not been confirmed yet, Take-Two recently hinted that GTA 6 would be released in the fiscal year 2025.

It claimed several groundbreaking titles would set new standards in the industry during this period, and the gaming giant has reiterated this statement, hinting that GTA 6 will arrive by March 2025 at the latest.

Why it matters: Rockstar Games’ reputation for high-quality games and the popularity of the Grand Theft Auto franchise have led to incredible anticipation for the latest game.

GTA 6 Concept Trailer

Take-Two revealed that it has high expectations for fiscal year 2025 and expects new records. During the financial earnings call with investors, CFO Lainie Goldstein said:

“Fiscal 2025 will culminate in us delivering new record levels of operating performance next year and beyond”

Since the fiscal year 2025 lasts between April 2024 and March 2025, any month between this timeframe could serve as a release window for the next Grand Theft Auto entry.

Lainie Goldstein mentioned new levels of operating performance next fiscal year, and only one Take-Two franchise can set new records for the publisher. Therefore, there is little doubt that the CFO referred to the launch of GTA 6.

Despite the nearing release date, Rockstar Games has been extremely quiet about GTA 6. Previously, a massive leak revealed various parts of the game. However, this was early footage, and the studio has not shared an official look at the game yet.

GTA 5 is also nearing its 10th anniversary in just over a month, and fans have speculated that Rockstar Games may use this opportunity to reveal an official trailer for GTA 6.

Looking at the release window, GTA 6 might be available in the latter half of 2024 if Rockstar Games follows previous trends. Titles like Red Dead Redemption 2 and GTA 5 were released in October and September, respectively.

The studio is aiming for perfection with GTA 6, leading to high expectations. While the studio has recently stumbled with poor re-releases, Rockstar Games has an exceptional track record with original titles.

If the studio’s history is anything to go by, the launch of the next Grand Theft Auto game will be a moment to remember for the entire gaming industry.
