Suicide Squad Unplayable An Hour After Launch As Servers Pulled Offline

Already Showing Downsides of Always Online Approach!

Story Highlights
  • Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League has been released today as an early access title for deluxe edition buyers.
  • However, a bug led to the team pulling the game servers offline one hour after the launch.
  • Rocksteady has apologized and is performing maintenance on the game servers.

Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League is only three days away from its release, but the game arrives a few days before the launch for those who purchased the most expensive Deluxe Edition.

In certain parts of the world, like, New Zealand, the looter-shooter is already playable for early-access buyers. However, one hour into the game’s first run, Rocksteady was forced to pull the servers down as many players faced an annoying bug.

Why it matters: Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League is completely unplayable unless players are connected to an active internet connection. Therefore, this approach is already beginning to show its downsides.

Following the shutdown, Rocksteady communicated with the fans, acknowledging the issue faced by players.

The studio states that this specific bug ends up showing full completion of the game when logging into Suicide Squad. However, this is not just a visual bug, completing the full games for new players.

Rocksteady will perform maintenance on the game servers to resolve the issue. The studio stated:

“During this time the game will be unavailable.”

The developer has also apologized for the inconvenience, but it appears that the players who bought the deluxe edition of the game will have to wait a little longer to play it. Rocksteady states that this process will require at least several more hours.

Exactly how long it will take the developers to resolve this issue is anybody’s guess, but it’s still disappointing to see the game getting off to such a poor start.

It is no surprise that Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League faces an uphill battle. The early impressions of the game haven’t been positive, and the developers haven’t sent out codes for the game reviews.

All of this has surrounded the launch in negativity that can only be limited if Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League impresses players. However, to achieve such results, the studio needs to ensure everything works as intended at launch.
