Expedition 33 Was Voted As The 14th Best Game Of 2025 By Japanese Players.

Story Highlight
  • Silent Hill F has won Game of the Year at the Famitsu Dengeki Game Awards 2025.
  • The title was voted GOTY by Japanese players and went home with the most wins at the ceremony.
  • Expedition 33, the most awarded title in gaming history, failed to reach the top 10 and languished as the 14th best game of 2025 according to Japanese players.

Since returning to the limelight, the Silent Hill franchise has produced one hit after another. The most recent entry, Silent Hill F, received universal acclaim from critics for being a beautiful addition to the storied IP and carrying on its brutal legacy.

In addition, the 2025 horror game became the fastest-selling title in the series, reaching 1 million sales even quicker than the Silent Hill 2 remake. Now, the NeoBards Entertainment game has reached yet another milestone, winning Game of the Year at a Japanese awards show.

Why it matters: Silent Hill F was a brilliant and much-needed addition to the franchise, which helped it evolve in more than one way. Hence, this GOTY honor is well-deserved.

Silent Hill F
The horror game has become a critical and commercial hit for Konami.

Silent Hill F has been crowned as the 2025 Game of the Year by the Famitsu Dengeki Game Awards. The horror title won the most honors at the awards show, taking home 3 wins, including Best Game Studio and Best Voice Actor

Interestingly, the Famitsu Dengeki Game Awards are entirely user-voted, meaning Silent Hill F is the most acclaimed release of 2025 amongst Japanese players.

Furthermore, the biggest force in this year’s GOTY battle, Expedition 33, didn’t even make the top 10 of the user-voted ranking of last year’s best games. Japanese fans voted the RPG as the 14th best title of 2025, behind the likes of Death Stranding 2, Ghost of Yotei, Mario Kart World, and Monster Hunter Wilds.

Expedition 33 was the 14th-best game of 2025 according to Japanese players.

Therefore, Silent Hill F beat out the most awarded title in gaming history based only on player votes. With new Silent Hill games planned every year, fans will hope the IP’s resurgence continues at this level of success.
