- Bloober Team has reiterated that Silent Hill 2 Remake is in the final stages.
- The release date, along with the game’s platforms, will be announced soon.
- The developer also states that the title will be out no later than 2024.
Silent Hill 2 Remake is rapidly approaching its release, but marketing has been lacking from Konami. According to Bloober Team, this problem will be solved soon. The developer states that an announcement regarding the remake is coming soon.
Why it matters: Nearly halfway into 2024, Konami has been surprisingly quiet. Silent Hill 2 Remake is one of its two major releases this year, so the silence is odd, to say the least.
According to the report, the team is looking to wrap up the development of the project. Similar statements have been made in the past, but Bloober Team says a release date announcement is on the way from Konami.
Moreover, it states that information on the platforms will be revealed alongside the release. This is interesting since we know the title will be released only on the PS5 and PC at launch.
While it could get an Xbox version down the line, PlayStation seems to have exclusivity locked in for the time being.
Recently, the team changed the look of the protagonist, James Sunderland, in the remake’s artwork. This means that Bloober Team may have given the project more time than initially intended.
The major reason for such changes is the recent criticism of the gameplay trailer, which depicted sloppy animations, poor visuals, and more.
Anyhow, fans should expect news as early as next month. With a new PlayStation event rumored for May, Silent Hill 2 Remake is sure to be one of the major games to show up.
