- Silent Hill 2 Remake has been nominated for various categories at The Game Awards 2024, including best narrative and audio design.
- The game will compete with big titles like Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth.
- This event would mark Bloober Team’s first win at The Game Awards if Silent Hill 2 is able to come out on top.
Geoff Keighley has just confirmed the nominations for The Game Awards 2024. This event, set to go live on December 12, will see the industry’s best games competing for various awards across different categories.
Following much success earlier this year, the likes of Black Myth: Wukong and Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree have secured multiple nominations. Bloober Team’s excellent Silent Hill 2 Remake has also shown promise, securing five nominations in total.
Why it matters: Many doubted the dynamic duo of Konami and Bloober Team before Silent Hill 2 Remake’s release. The studios proved everyone wrong and may do so again at The Game Awards 2024.
Silent Hill 2 Remake has been nominated in the following categories:
- Best Narrative
- Best Score/Music
- Best Audio Design
- Best Performance (Luke Roberts)
- Best Action/Adventure Game
The game will go head-to-head with titles like Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth and Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2 in these categories.
Perhaps the most interesting pick here is the action/adventure category. Most people would not describe this survival horror title as an action/adventure experience, but this pick may have come due to the lack of a dedicated horror category at The Game Awards 2024.
Anyhow, Silent Hill 2 is expected to take home at least a few awards next month. This will be an important milestone for Bloober Team since the team has not won any major titles at The Game Awards in previous years.
