Silent Hill 2 Remake was one of the biggest hits of last year. The expectations weren’t too high initially, but the game stunned everyone with its terrifying environment and brilliant visuals. It has even managed to sell 2 million units since its launch.
Why it matters: Bloober Team’s remake didn’t look like it could capture the magic of the original Silent Hill 2 with its early trailers, but the developers managed to improve upon it with the finished version of the game.
Konami has confirmed that Silent Hill 2 Remake has sold 2 million units since it was released in October 2024. This includes both digital and physical sales. Notably, the game has achieved these numbers while being available on just PS5 and PC.
Konami Digital Entertainment Co., Ltd. is pleased to announce that cumulative shipments of “SILENT HILL 2” (PlayStation 5, Steam), have surpassed 2 million copies.
Apart from boasting a near-perfect score on Steam, Silent Hill 2 Remake has been a hit among the critics as well. Since its release, it has won several awards and accolades including the ‘Outstanding Visuals Style’ at the Steam Awards 2024.
The game even led Konami’s stocks to soar by a massive 96% last year. Rumors also point that the original Silent Hill, and Silent Hill 3 Remakes have also begun development. Silent Hill F is also due soon, so fans of the franchise will be eating well.
