The In-Depth GTA 6 Footage Will Air On Netflix And YouTube!

Story Highlight
  • Rockstar Games has confirmed that we’re soon getting our first deep dive into GTA 6.
  • The studio will finally reveal an ‘extended look’ into the game, which could feature gameplay.
  • It’s also possible that the new footage will revolve around the storyline and campaign.

While we got a set of screenshots and new details about GTA 6 when pre-orders went live, Trailer 3 has still been nowhere to be seen. Now, it appears that Rockstar is finally kicking off the long-anticipated marketing campaign for GTA 6 in the last month of summer.

The studio has just released a short video that confirms we are getting our first ‘extended look’ into GTA 6 on August 27.

Why it matters: Rockstar Games’ latest confirmation about GTA 6 has reignited hype and mitigated fan concerns. The company was already expected to reveal something before Take-Two’s latest earnings report.

This short 25-second announcement was uploaded on Rockstar’s YouTube channel, but no other specific details about the extended look were mentioned. However, even this tidbit of confirmation was enough to spark a new wave of excitement in the community.

Grand Theft Auto VI: An Extended Look will premiere on Netflix Thursday, August 27 at 3 p.m. ET and will also launch on the official Rockstar Games YouTube channel and the Grand Theft Auto VI site at 9 p.m. ET on August 27.

The company confirms that the extended GTA 6 footage will premiere on Netflix and YouTube. Rockstar seems to be skipping Trailer 3 altogether and opting for an in-depth showcase.

We can expect to see a deep dive into the highly ambitious open-world experience, including our first possible introduction to its gameplay.

However, it’s also possible that the extended video will focus on the game’s campaign and storyline instead—or it could be both in an ideal world.

We might be getting our first look at GTA 6 gameplay later this month.

This announcement also comes before Take-Two’s earnings report, which is basically another nod from the company that GTA 6 is on track to launch in November 2026.

Gamers were growing increasingly concerned due to Rockstar’s prolonged silence, which fueled fears that GTA 6 would miss Take-Two’s earnings report window and face another delay instead.

Do you think Rockstar Games will finally reveal some real gameplay in the upcoming in-depth look, or can we expect the new reveal to hover around the storyline instead? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below, or join the discussion on the Tech4Gamers forum.
