Red Dead Redemption was a terrific game from Rockstar in 2010. Since its release, the franchise has received a sequel and reached millions of new gamers worldwide.
The original game was not released for PC, leading to demand for a native port. While nothing is confirmed, the game was recently rated in Korea, sparking discussions about a potential remaster or remake.
A source now claims that the game will be announced in August.
Why it matters: Following the disappointment from the GTA Trilogy, it was believed that Rockstar had canceled plans for Red Dead Redemption Remaster. However, new signs have given fans hope that this may not have happened.
Colin believes the remaster was never cancelled, instead the game was given more time in development. He goes on to say he believes the announcement is imminent, likely in August or later.

Despite initial reports, Colin Moriarty from Sacred Symbols believes Red Dead Redemption Remaster was never canceled.
Rockstar likely took the feedback from the GTA Trilogy and approached a new developer for Red Dead Redemption. This also means the game was given more time for a finished product.
An announcement in August could point to a release in late 2023 or early 2024. With Take-Two previously hinting at a 2024 or early 2025 release for GTA 6, this would allow the developer to keep fans busy until the next big GTA title.
The GTA Trilogy launched with several bugs, leading to unanimous criticism from the industry. Over a year later, the game launched on Steam, and it still showed many of the same problems from the launch.
Rockstar is likely looking to avoid a similar scenario for Red Dead Redemption.
Red Dead Redemption has already sold over 15 million copies. Despite being unavailable from modern PlayStation consoles and PC, the game has remained relevant over the years.
A remaster would likely bring millions of new players who have never played the game, and it would also allow them to experience the complete journey of John Marston.
