PlayStation Sets A New Record!

Sony is well-known for innovating and leading the gaming market with PlayStation. Till now, Sony has released five PlayStation consoles, seeing great success with each new release.

The latest console, PlayStation 5, has been breaking records in terms of sales. While the gaming giant has no shortage of sales, Sony has achieved another milestone now.

Following the recent sales report, Sony has become the first company to sell over 500 million home consoles.

PlayStation 2 is the best-selling console from Sony, with total sales exceeding over 155 million units. At the same time, PlayStation 4 is the second best-selling console, with a total of 117.2 million.

According to the latest PlayStation report, the PS5 has also sold over 38.4 million consoles. Adding 87.4 million units of the PlayStation 3 and 102.4 million units of the PlayStation 1 to the total, Sony has set a new record in the gaming industry.

On the other hand, the most sold console for Microsoft is the Xbox 360, with over 85 million units, lagging PlayStation 2 sales by 75 million units. In total, Microsoft has roughly sold close to 165 million home consoles.

Sony has always had a strong presence in the market with high-quality first-party franchises. This has motivated players to pick the PlayStation platform over rival console options.

Looking at recent exclusives, games like Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart, God of War: Ragnarok, Horizon Forbidden West, and more continue this trend of high-quality AAA games that entice consumers.

Brand recognition has played a vital role in these impressive sales numbers. PlayStation is also dominant in regions like Japan, while other parts of the world, like Europe, further highlight PlayStation’s advantage.

The 500 million figure is impressive, even for a brand like PlayStation. With the current pace of PS5 sales, Sony may continue to shatter even more records in the coming months.
