Metal Gear Solid Remake Announcement Soon!

A new entry in the Metal Gear franchise is long overdue. Fans worldwide have celebrated games from the franchise for over two decades, but the series has not seen a new entry since 2018’s Metal Gear Survive, which saw mediocre reception.

Last month, a source claimed that Konami is working on a Metal Gear Solid remake. A few weeks later, Metal Gear Survive Producer; Noriaki Okamura also hinted at a long-awaited project for 2023.

While an announcement has not happened yet, the source has again discussed the alleged remake, claiming that the remake should be announced before May

Fans had previously hoped for the possibility of an announcement at TGA 2022. The Game Awards 2022 showcase was home to massive announcements like Armored Core 6, but Metal Gear Solid was nowhere to be seen.

The source believes that the game will be announced during the early months of 2022. Specifically, February and March are strong contenders for the announcement.

Microsoft recently announced a Developer Direct for January 25, and similar events are expected in the coming months from Xbox, but the rumor states that Metal Gear Solid Remake will be exclusive to PlayStation 5, so an appearance at Microsoft’s events seems unlikely.

Konami also announced Silent Hill 2 Remake not too long ago, showing the publisher’s intentions to revisit older franchises. Therefore, Metal Gear Solid would be the perfect candidate for another remake, so the rumor does not sound nonsensical.

However, it would be best to take this information with a grain of salt until further confirmation from official sources.

Metal Gear Solid 3 Remake

The franchise is well-known for its ground-breaking innovations and incredible story-telling, but fans have been starved for a worthy entry for many years.

It should also be noted that Hideo Kojima is unlikely to be involved in the potential remake due to his rocky relationship with publisher Konami. However, the possibility of Metal Gear Solid returning to the gaming industry is still an exciting prospect for old and new fans of the IP.
