Story Highlight
  • A reliable source has confirmed that Marvel’s Wolverine will be at the next State of Play.
  • PlayStation’s next major showcase is rumored to be happening at the end of September.
  • A new mainline God of War game is also in development alongside a Metroidvania game.

Marvel’s Wolverine was first announced back in 2021 with a teaser. Since then, it has been expected at almost every major PlayStation showcase, but it has always been a no-show, and that might be about to change very soon.

According to a new report, Marvel’s Wolverine will appear at the next PlayStation State of Play. While there is no confirmation, various rumors point towards the showcase happening at the end of September.

Why it matters: Marvel’s Wolverine has had a very complicated behind-the-scenes development cycle. Its files got leaked during the Insomniac ransomware attack; therefore, the development was affected to a certain extent.

Marvel’s Wolverine expected to be showcased at the next State of Play

Finally, after years of waiting, anonymous sources have confirmed to Insider Gaming that we are about to get our first detailed look at Marvel’s Wolverine at the State of Play. The production on the trailer is done, and it’s ready to be showcased.

While the likelihood of it appearing at the showcase is very high, even if it doesn’t, Insomniac will most probably show it off in the next few months. This is great news for the fans who had been waiting for over 4 years.

If the trailer indeed comes out soon, we can anticipate that a launch window might be revealed as well. It was slated to release exclusively on the PS5, so it might release within the next couple of years.

Moreover, Insider has also confirmed that a mainline God of War is also in development, along with the Metroidvania game. However, that is all the information there is on it for now. All in all, PlayStation fans would be thrilled with these developments.
