Gears of War is one of the most beloved shooter franchises under the hood of Xbox, with a massive fan base around the globe. The franchise’s foundations were laid in 2007 with the first installment in the series for the iconic Xbox 360.
There have been multiple games in the series since then. In January 2022, a well-known Xbox insider and one of the hosts on the XboxEra Podcast, Nick Baker, revealed that another Xbox game franchise is getting the Halo: The Master Chief Collection treatment.
Which later turned out to be the Gears of War franchise, also revealed by Nick in another episode of XboxEra.
Although there is no other source or official announcement/tease about a remastered Gears of War collection releasing for current-gen Xbox consoles other than claims by Nick Baker.
Nick stated that this remastered collection would be released by the end of 2022, but it is clear that there was not even an announcement about this in 2022, which put this rumor kind of under the rug.
However, to this date, he still insists that a Gears of War collection remaster is happening, and in a recent thread on Twitter, he can be seen standing by his claims.

Furthermore, Nick also says that he is not allowed to reveal anything further about this, which strongly indicates that he knows something about a potential Gears of War collection remaster.
I’m currently not allowed to give much more detail than “it’s happening” at the moment (I’m working on loosening the grip) but even as someone who isn’t a big Gears fan anymore, what this is should be really awesome. Add even better adjectives for Gears fans.

Nick has not revealed which Gears of War games will be added to this remastered collection. Undoubtedly, Nick has a good track record of Xbox-related news and leaks, but it is advised to take this one with a grain of salt until further confirmation or statement from the official sources.
