Tokyo Game Show 2024 Scheduled For Next Week!!

Story Highlight
  • Final Fantasy 16 has been rumored to be coming on the Xbox for a while.
  • One of the most reliable leakers suggests that an official announcement about Final Fantasy 16 coming to Xbox could be made during TGS 2024.
  • However, he further stated that Final Fantasy I-VI Pixel Remasters would also be a great option for starting Xbox ports.

Final Fantasy 16 was released just last year as a timed PlayStation exclusive, and while there have already been rumors of an Xbox port in the works for the title, this appears to be more than true now.

Just recently, a reliable leaker has stated that Final Fantasy 16 and I-VI Pixel Remasters are likely to be announced during the Tokyo Game Show 2024.

Why it matters: While the release of Final Fantasy 16 on Xbox is inevitable, fans are still waiting for an official announcement.

Final Fantasy 16 Was Released As A PS5 Exclusive

In the latest episode of the XB2 Podcast, Jez Corden discussed the Final Fantasy franchise, stating that fans who are expecting the Final Fantasy 7 Remake to be announced during the show shouldn’t expect it this time around.

However, he states that some of the announcements regarding the Final Fantasy franchise would be made during the Tokyo Game Show 2024.

you’ll see some Final Fantasy, which will hint at a broader partnership.

While he doesn’t know what title could be coming on the show, one of them is likely Final Fantasy 16, which has been rumored to be coming on the platform for a while, and recently, the director of the game has also teased the Xbox port.

Corden also stated that  Final Fantasy I-IV Pixel Remasters would also put Xbox in a good place to start porting, but he’s not certain about it. He has also claimed that the title could also be coming to the Game Pass at launch.

While nothing has been officially announced yet, the title’s PC port has already been launched. Also, recently, the team has teased that the title would be released on more platforms, so an Xbox release is no less than official currently.

Nonetheless, we believe it’s great for the franchise. Final Fantasy 16 failed to meet its sales expectations at launch because of its exclusivity, so the multi-plat approach could bring it much-awaited exposure.
