Only Xbox Game To Support PS5 Controller Features!

Story Highlights
  • Hi-Fi Rush celebrated its first anniversary yesterday.
  • The developers have released a new update for the game, adding support for the PS5 Dualsenes controller.
  • This has led to speculation about the game heading to PS5 after previous rumors.

Hi-Fi Rush has just turned one, and the game had a fantastic year. While it was shadow-dropped, this rhythm-action game ended up becoming Xbox’s highest-rated title last year and won several awards.

However, according to recent rumors, Hi-Fi Rush is one of the few Xbox games going third-party soon. Following such rumors, the game’s new PC update adds support for the PS5 DualSense controller, leading to speculations about a PS5 release.

Why it matters: Xbox has yet to address these rumors. This has led to rampant speculation, and such updates only serve to add fuel to the fire.

The latest update fixes typical bugs and glitches. However, it also expands the game’s controller layouts. With full PlayStation support, Hi-Fi Rush now offers icons for PlayStation controllers, bringing more than just basic functionality.

This support extends to other features not found in Xbox controllers. It means adaptive triggers and haptic feedback, exclusive PlayStation features, now work in this game, making it an intentional addition on Tango Gameworks’ part.

Interestingly, no other Xbox first-party game includes this support. While the DualSense can be used to play the likes of Starfield and Forza Horizon 5, adaptive triggers do not work in those games.

Amid previous rumors, this update suggests something is in the works. Hi-Fi Rush could very well be in the process of being ported to PlayStation, making it one of Xbox’s few games across all platforms.

Other rumors suggest Sea of Thieves is also receiving a PlayStation port soon. However, none of these rumors have been verified by official announcements so far, so it may be best to take them with a grain of salt.

Hi-Fi Rush has been a huge hit for Tango Gameworks.

Following this release, the studio intends to try more unique experiments fueled by creativity and passion. The developer’s decision to port its latest game to PlayStation could aid its creativity, reaching a larger audience without being limited to a single platform.
