GTA 6 Roadmap Reportedly Outlines PC Release for February 2027, Online Mode in December 2026

PC Fans Won't Have To Wait A Year After The Game's Release!

Story Highlight
  • The GTA 6 PC port will arrive just 3 months after the console release.
  • The online mode will be released a month after the single-player launch.
  • Marketing for the game kicks in the summer.

Historically, Rockstar releases arrive on consoles first and take about a year to arrive on PCs. It’s because these games are on a grand scale, and porting takes some significant time and resources.

Fortunately, though, things won’t be the same for GTA 6 as Rockstar’s next ambitious open-world will arrive on PCs sooner than expected. Based on the current leak timeline, it is expected to take less than 3 months after its console release.

Why it matters: Since GTA 6 has taken so much time to come out, it wouldn’t have been fair for PC users to wait a year after the game’s initial launch to play it. Fortunately, that won’t be happening this time around.

Insider DetectiveSeeds claims to have spoken with a few developers at Rockstar about GTA 6’s PC release, and all of them corroborated the same statement: it’s currently scheduled for February 2027, around 3 months after the game’s initial launch on consoles on 17th November 2026.

It does make sense, though. Rockstar would want peak sales for GTA 6, since they’ve invested nearly $2 billion in development so far. Also, the initial launch would give a boost to console sales, as it falls within the holiday period.

February 2027 would further boost sales when console sales would dip post-holidays.

Analysts currently predict 85 million sales for the game in just 2 months, which might seem absurd, but do remember that GTA 6 is the biggest release in history.

As for the Online mode, TheGhostOfHope, a known Call of Duty leaker with a solid track record of getting inside information right, claims a December 2026 release date.

The confirmation will arrive soon enough, as Take-Two, Rockstar’s parent company, plans to kick off marketing for the game in the summer, which is right around the corner. A trailer 3 showing gameplay footage might also be around the corner.
