Ronald D. Moore Is In The Writer's Room!

Story Highlight
  • Star Trek veteran Ronald D. Moore is in the writer’s room working on the God of War TV Show.
  • Amazon has ordered 2 seasons for the show.
  • Ronald tried to play the God of War games but couldn’t because he was not acquainted with modern games.

It’s been quite a few years since the first reports surrounding the live-action God of War project appeared. However, it quickly faded into obscurity while other PlayStation IPs were on a roll in the cinema business.

Despite a rocky start, God of War’s TV show adaptation is still in the works after Amazon decided to restart the project’s development last year. Star Trek veteran Ronald D. Moore is now onboard as the showrunner and has just revealed that Amazon ordered two seasons for the adaptation.

Why It Matters: For such a staple franchise in gaming to receive a film adaptation, fans were nervous and patiently awaited what the project might look like. However, this update from the show’s writer will please fans.

In a podcast, Ronald revealed that he is currently in the writer’s room working on the project. However, the veteran producer stated that he’s not a gamer and has never done anything like this.

Moreover, Ronald also said he tried to play the game but couldn’t since he’s not a gamer per se and mostly grew up around Arcade games. According to the showrunner, he couldn’t grasp the modern-day controller.

The adaptation should succeed as long as the showrunner understands the character’s tone and the themes of the source material.

Ronald D. Moore’s Portfolio Makes Him More Than Qualified For God Of War’s Live-Action Project

Ronald already has decades of experience in the writing department, having worked on hit franchises such as Star Trek and Outlander. Fans can rest assured as the TV show rests in the right hands.

The God of War TV show will reportedly be based on Norse mythology until Ronald’s involvement changes the whole direction, which seems improbable.
