Even though there was no announcement for the GeForce RTX 4070 Ti Founders Edition graphics card, it looks like Nvidia will not be doing the same with the upcoming GeForce RTX 4070.
A picture of the GeForce RTX 4070 Founders Edition box was recently leaked by RedGamingTech. The box of the upcoming GeForce RTX 4070 shares a similar design to its bigger brothers, though the cutout for the graphics card inside the box is pretty different.
The GeForce RTX 4070 Founders Edition box seems to be designed to hold a much smaller graphics card compared to the GeForce RTX 4080 and GeForce RTX 4090.
A smaller cutout could mean that the upcoming GeForce RTX 4070 will likely feature a new cooler as well. There is no information on the dimension of the GeForce RTX 4070, but the box does measure a width of 112m, compared to the 137mm width found on the Founders Edition box for the GeForce RTX 4080 and GeForce 4090.
Furthermore, the GeForce RTX 4070, like every GeForce RTX 40-series graphics card, will also come equipped with a 12-pin power connector.
It’s also quite interesting to know that Nvidia didn’t decide to go with a Founders Edition card for the GeForce RTX 4070 Ti only. Well, Nvidia had to un-launch the GeForce RTX 4080 12 GB after bad press, and well, it looks like the green team did not want to waste time and money making coolers with a new logo for the GeForce RTX 4070 Ti.
The GeForce RTX 4070 is expected to be based on AD104-250/251 with a total rated board power of 200W. The card is also expected to feature 5888 CUDA cores and 12 GB of GDDR6X memory. There is no information on the pricing of the card, though do expect it to be around $100 or $200 cheaper than the GeForce RTX 4070 Ti.
What are your thoughts on the upcoming GeForce RTX 4070? Are you excited for new graphis cards?
