Massive Resurgence Ahead of DLC Launch!

Story Highlight
  • Elden Ring is going through a huge resurgence.
  • Over 100K Steam users are playing the game each day, with peaks going as high as 130K players.
  • Such player counts were last observed in May 2022.

Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree is closer than ever. The DLC is finally set to arrive in just two weeks, offering around 40 hours of FromSoftware’s classic gameplay that fans have come to love over the years.

Following the latest trailer and previews, interest in this IP seems higher than ever. Elden Ring is now trending on Steam again, reaching over 129K players in the last 24 hours.

Why it matters: Shadow of the Erdtree is set to expand upon FromSoftware’s most successful title. This resurgence highlights Elden Ring’s dominance and influence over other FromSoftware releases and the Souls-like genre.

As Steamdb reports, around 100K players are active in-game at the time of writing. Moreover, the concurrent peak of nearly 130K players marks a new high for Elden Ring since May 2022.

Therefore, this is proving to be the most exciting time for Elden Ring fans since the game first launched. At release, FromSoftware’s title became one of Steam’s biggest hits, boasting a concurrent peak of nearly 1 million players.

With new records being made two weeks ahead of Shadow of the Erdtree, perhaps even more players will flood the game once this expansion eventually arrives. Not too long ago, this FromSoftware release was also among Steam’s best-sellers.

Since then, it has maintained this position and will likely climb further as the launch draws nearer.
