- The last mainline entry in the Dead Space franchise was released over a decade ago.
- The franchise creator has recently stated that he would love to work on a new game in the franchise.
- He says he’s ready to return to work on the iconic horror franchise.
Dead Space is one of the most popular horror game franchises. The first game’s remake was released last year and did fairly well at launch.
EA was quick to create a survey asking fans if they want more remakes in the franchise. However, Dead Space’s creator has recently thanked fans for their support and stated that he’s ready to return, suggesting that we might get a new game in the franchise.
Why it matters: The horror genre has seen a significant resurgence in the last two years, and a new entry in the Dead Space franchise would introduce many new players to the genre.
Just recently, the 16th anniversary of the release of the Dead Space franchise was celebrated. On this special occasion, the franchise’s creator and director, Glen Schofield, tweeted to thank fans for their support over the years.
EA gave me the support & opportunity to bring it to life.

He further stated that it would be cool to work on another game in the franchise, bringing back much excitement among the fans of the iconic franchise.
It would be cool to do a new one
Replying to one of the comments where fans stated, “We need you back,” Glen said, “I’m now ready to go back,” suggesting that he would love to work on a new game in the franchise.
While this statement does not suggest that the next entry is inevitable, this is the first time we have heard anything like this from an official developer. So, there’s a good chance we may get another entry in the franchise.
