The NPC AI has also improved significantly since the launch day. They react to your actions and will run away if you open fire. While some NPCs run away at the sight of a threat, others will try to fight back, enhancing the game’s immersion.
Moreover, the city is now full of violent encounters between different gangs as well as police fighting against the gangs of Night City. So, there is always something happening in the city, making it one of the liveliest open-worlds in gaming.
Night City nails it with its intricately crafted districts. Each part gives you a taste of different slices of society, from various cultures to different social classes and cutting-edge cybernetics.
Whether you’re soaking in the luxury of Westbrook or getting down and gritty in Pacifica, Night City opens up a world that’s incredibly diverse and certainly full of secrets.
The promise of the Cyberpunk setting from CD Projekt RED was to let players truly immerse themselves in a bustling city. Phantom Liberty takes it to a whole new level, filling in the gaps left by some areas in Night City.
The expansion adds a new district in the game – Dogtown. This district is a hub for global arms trade and everything illegal. The NCPD and Corpos are prohibited from entering Dogtown, making it a safe haven for seasoned criminals and gang members.
While you’re exploring Dogtown, expect to meet all kinds of interesting characters and take on special quests. Furthermore, you will find yourself in combat against different gang members to secure airdrops filled with great loot.
Phantom Liberty’s release has led to the redemption of Cyberpunk 2077, fulfilling CD Projekt RED’s goal of earning back trust and customer satisfaction. The expansion has also received much praise from general audiences, with nearly 90% of the reviews being positive on Steam.
Nonetheless, it is safe to say that Cyberpunk 2077 is now the game we deserved on launch day in 2020, and Night City is a major part of the game’s current appeal.
