Cyberpunk 2077 Moves Past 246K Concurrent Steam Players

Highest Peak Since Dec 2020 Thanks To DLC!

Cyberpunk 2077 had already begun to show signs of life after the recent launch of the 2.0 update. Following this update, the game reached 115K concurrent Steam players for the first time since October 2022.

Before the release of Phantom Liberty, Cyberpunk 2077 and the upcoming DLC dominated the Steam top-selling charts, pointing to a massive number of players venturing into Dog Town at release.

Phantom Liberty has now been released, helping Cyberpunk 2077 reach over 246K  concurrent players on Steam.

Why it matters: This is a major milestone since it marks an all-time high concurrent peak for the game in nearly three years, highlighting the continued interest in CDPR’s latest title.

As seen above, Cyberpunk 2077 has reached nearly 250K concurrent players on Steam in the last 24 hours. Due to the excitement around Phantom Liberty, over 140K players are also exploring the RPG and its new content at the time of writing.

While these numbers pale in comparison to the game’s all-time peak concurrent players, this is the first time since December 2020 that the game has reached over 246K concurrent players.

Upon release, Cyberpunk 2077 went through anticipation that was built up for several years. CDPR’s reputation as a high-quality RPG developer also attracted millions of players to the game, leading to a historic launch in late 2020.

However, it quickly lost such players as they discovered the plethora of issues plaguing Cyberpunk 2077 at release. Therefore, it is not surprising that Phantom Liberty has been unable to bring back all of these players.

Nonetheless, CDPR has worked hard to bring the game up to par, redeeming itself in the eyes of many gamers.

The game had already amassed over 500K positive reviews on Steam before the release of the 2.0 update and Phantom Liberty, but the recent reception of the game may lead to even more positivity in the coming days.

The launch of Phantom Liberty marks an exciting occasion for CDPR and the fans sticking by Cyberpunk 2077 during its worst moments. This excitement is reflected in the Steam concurrent player counts, which may continue to rise over the weekend.
