In a post on X, Sandfall Interactive announced on the game’s first anniversary that Expedition 33 has now sold 8 million copies worldwide.

The developer stated that the game’s success still feels overwhelming for the team and thanked fans for supporting the RPG. Sandfall has also released a small update to commemorate this milestone and the game’s anniversary, giving the characters new haircuts while fixing some tiny bugs.

Expedition 33 had previously sold 5 million copies as of October 2025, after reaching 3.3 million shipments in its first 33 days. Besides the sales accolades, the title also achieved the gaming grand slam, winning Game of the Year at the “big 5” award ceremonies.
