CD Projekt Red announced Cyberpunk 2077 many years ago, before it finally surfaced once again and released in 2020. However, after so much waiting, what we got was a game filled with bugs and issues, which made it a nightmare to play.

However, the studio later fixed and it is undoubtedly now among the best games of this generation. CDPR has now once again stated that it has learned its lesson from that launch and won’t repeat it for The Witcher 4 and Cyberpunk 2

Why it matters: Many people still consider that if Cyberpunk 2077 had launched in a finished state, it could’ve even won the GOTY award, but the terrible optimization led to it becoming one of the worst launches in history.

Firstly, all teams globally must be kept in the loop, and secondly, all the work needs to be documented, from pre-production to alpha stage. The lead writer is excited for the projects and says the future is promising.

He revealed that with their earlier games, they didn’t document the processes, which made it hard to keep track of things. Now that they are taking different steps, they’ve learned their lessons and won’t repeat the mistakes again.
