The Borderlands series has seen its fair share of highs and lows over the years, with the recent movie flopping badly at the box office. However, all that negativity has certainly not affected Borderlands 4 fans since the last title in the franchise was released more than four years ago. The community has been hastily waiting to see actual gameplay footage after the first teaser barely revealed anything.
Now, Gearbox CEO Randy Pitchford has confirmed that the first reveal trailer for the game is in the works. He is not supposed to talk about it, but the full-length trailer is allegedly so good he can’t help himself.
Why it matters: The Gearbox CEO’s remarks have hyped up the Borderlands franchise fans, who are expecting big things from the first reveal trailer, like actual gameplay and more in-game footage than we saw before.
As Randy has tweeted repeatedly, the new Borderlands 4 trailer is in active production, and the scenes from it have made the CEO extremely excited. He’s also replied to users, teasing that it will feature actual gameplay and that we’ll see a lot of new and familiar faces.

While the CEO did not share an exact launch date for the reveal trailer, it is most likely to be during the upcoming Game Awards 2024 event.
All in all, Borderlands 4 is expected to launch sometime next year, with rumors suggesting it’ll arrive in the fall season.
