Won't Be Releasing It Due To Safety And Legal Reasons!

Story Highlight
  • A hacker reveals that they have cracked Black Myth: Wukong after a lot of effort.
  • They won’t be releasing the crack for safety and legal reasons, as their identity isn’t hidden.
  • But they have revealed the open source tools used, so others can try as well.

Pirating has been a huge problem in the industry since the beginning of time. Software like Denuvo is used to make sure games are safe from piracy, but somehow hackers find a way around that as well, and a new title has fallen prey to it.

A hacker has revealed that they have successfully bypassed the Denuvo protection on Black Myth: Wukong and cracked the title, but he says that it won’t be released to the public due to safety and legal concerns.

Why it matters: The Chinese RPG was released over a year ago and has gone without being cracked; however, it has finally lost the battle and has now been pirated.

Black Myth Cracked
Black Myth: Wukong has been cracked for almost a year since its release

Taking to X, hacker Maurice Heumann revealed that in the past weeks, he managed to crack Black Myth: Wukong with the help of Sogen and other techniques, suggesting that even the best of protections can be broken.

Heumann says that he won’t be releasing the title to the public due to safety reasons, but all the tools that he used are open source, so others can also try. This makes sense, considering most pirates hide their identities.
