Barely Out the Gate, Battlefield RedSec Is Already Being Review-Bombed on Steam

"Just a massive Warzone clone...this ain't battlefield at all."

Story Highlight
  • Battlefield RedSec is being review bombed on Steam.
  • The base Battlefield 6 game forces players into the Battle Royale mode, which is already filled with glitches, issues, and more.
  • If EA wants to achieve its goal of 100 million players, then this approach will result in failure.

Coming back to form wasn’t enough for EA as they aim to snatch the FPS crown from CoD. Battlefield 6 Season 1 recently launched alongside the highly anticipated BR mode, RedSec, that follows a similar blueprint to that of Warzone.

Unfortunately, RedSec isn’t making that big of an impact as EA expected. 2 days into launch, the Battle Royale mode is already being review-bombed on Steam, with the majority disappointed with the developers’ approach to this mode.

Why it matters: With RedSec set to play an important role in making Battlefield 6 successful, EA should’ve invested more time in refining the mode, and reviews show it needed more polishing.

Player Review Talking About Being Forced To Play BR

The biggest issue is that EA is forcing Battlefield 6 players to play the Battle Royale mode with the weekly challenges tied to RedSec. Some players just aren’t interested in playing RedSec, and it’s frustrating for them.

Furthermore, the Battle Royale mode itself isn’t receiving praise either. With most reviewers calling it a Warzone clone, RedSec’s formula feels repetitive to them. Other than that, hit register issues, glitches, and bugs worsen the gameplay experience.

Player Review Talking About The Mode’s Cons

Players also demand bigger maps and say that the Battle Royale mode might be the reason behind the absence of ‘true big maps‘ from Conquest and Escalation. Most are also calling for a solo experience as queueing with randoms turns into a ‘terrible play’.

Previous reports revealed that EA executives expected 100 million players for Battlefield 6, and such a feat was only possible via a Battle Royale mode. However, RedSec isn’t looking too great right out of the gate, and just to reach even half the goal, EA needs to really make some significant changes to make the mode look appealing and please all sorts of players.
