Assassin’s Creed Hexe Targeting 2026 Launch; Features Supernatural Powers

Expect More Linear Experience Like AC Mirage!

Story Highlights
  • Assassin’s Creed Hexe reportedly features supernatural elements like the possession of different beings during gameplay.
  • It will offer a more linear experience like past games and 2023’s Assassin’s Creed Mirage.
  • The game is targeting a 2026 launch and is currently in early development.

Ubisoft has an exciting year ahead, and Assassin’s Creed is a major part of the buzz surrounding this developer in 2024. A return to the RPG formula, the presence of real personalities like Yasuke, and a major graphical overhaul are just a few of the elements to look forward to in Assassin’s Creed Red.

However, the studio’s next major release, Assassin’s Creed Hexe, appears equally exciting. Said to be the first Assassin’s Creed with a single female lead in many years, this project has just received new details in a massive report.

According to the latest leak, Ubisoft plans to introduce superpowers in the game.

Why it matters: Assassin’s Creed is no stranger to supernatural abilities, with various fictional elements being incorporated into the series from the beginning. However, it seems the studio is looking to go all-in on superpowers this time.

This information comes from very reliable sources. According to the report, the game will lean heavily into abilities that represent the themes of the 16th-century witchcraft era.

Sources point to abilities like the possession of cats in addition to the returning feat system from Assassin’s Creed Syndicate’s Jack the Ripper DLC. The setting is also said to be much darker.

Ubisoft appears to be targeting a 2026 launch for the game, giving the publisher a two-year break after Assassin’s Creed Red arrives this year. Interestingly, the report suggests a return to the more linear nature of past games.

This would make Assassin’s Creed Hexe similar to last year’s Assassin’s Creed Mirage, which took a step back from the RPG formula.

In theory, Assassin’s Creed Hexe sounds like a fantastic amalgamation of past and modern concepts. However, Ubisoft seems to be walking a fine line between experimenting with fresh ideas and sacrificing the IP’s identity altogether.

Nonetheless, the report states that the game is still in early development, so we don’t expect to learn more about it officially anytime soon. The developer is likely to be more focused on Assassin’s Creed Red for now as it prepares for Ubisoft Forward in June.
