Take Armored Core On The Go!

Following various job listings and hints, FromSoftware announced Armored Core 6 at The Game Awards in 2022. This new edition of Armored Core was set to arrive on nearly all consoles and PC.

Armored Core 6 is launching ten years after the last entry in the series and aims to bring challenging combat, massive bosses, and mech customization. Like FromSoftware’s recent release, the game will also be playable on Steam Deck.

Why it matters: The Steam Deck is among the most popular handhelds on the market. Its compatibility with the Steam ecosystem makes it popular for users looking to take their gaming experiences on the go.

Armored Core 6

Armored Core 6 is releasing on August 25, and GamingonLinux reports it has been rated among the list of playable games on the handheld.

For the unfamiliar, Valve has three ratings for Steam Deck titles, including unsupported, playable, and verified. The playable rating means that the game should work fine for the most part but may exhibit problems during certain parts.

Nonetheless, fans can expect a mostly smooth experience after the success of Elden Ring on Steam Deck. FromSoftware has likely taken extra care to ensure the game works well for the studio’s massive fanbase on the handheld.

Following the announcement, fans are hoping Valve will be able to fix the small issues so Armored Core 6 can earn the Steam Deck verified certification, ensuring a flawless experience.

Recently, Armored Core 6 also made it into the top 5 best-sellers on Steam, hinting at another successful release for the studio, despite the niche appeal of the series.
