- Agentic AI is revolutionizing digital assistants by autonomously handling tasks, reducing the need for human input.
- Google’s Deep Research, Agentic AI, refines search results by gathering precise information and efficiently organizing content structure.
- AI is evolving beyond answering questions; it now integrates into workflows and improves productivity across various industries.
Artificial intelligence has been making waves for years, especially with the arrival of GPT-4o. However, the major development in Artificial intelligence now is Agentic AI, which is revolutionizing the industry. This term refers to artificial intelligence systems capable of performing tasks autonomously and acting as agents on our behalf.
These advancements are changing the way we interact with technology entirely. Agentic AI can handle tasks without constant human guidance, making it a groundbreaking innovation that has completely captivated me.
Revolutionizing Digital Assistance
The rise of Agentic AI has transformed how we think about digital assistants. Instead of just answering questions, AI can now complete tasks, streamlining daily life. AI tools like OpenAI’s Custom GPTs, Microsoft’s Copilot Actions, and Google’s Gems are paving the way for a future where AI manages entire digital workflows.
Tech giants like MediaTek are developing specialized chips for ARM-based laptops to handle these AI-driven tasks efficiently. In contrast to the hardware advances, true Agentic AI is still in its early stages. However, one of the most significant steps in this direction is Google’s Deep Research, a part of the Gemini AI family.
We all know how frustrating Google searches can be these days: irrelevant results, changing algorithms, and inconsistent findings. You might get one result today and a completely different one tomorrow. For many, the experience has only worsened over time.
With Deep Research, this experience is completely transformed. Instead of sifting through thousands of irrelevant results, AI gathers information from your chosen sources, ensuring precise and reliable search outcomes.
Professionals across various fields are recognizing its value. Deep Research is beneficial for lawyers, journalists, and researchers. It removes redundant information, organizes results into structured sections, and even includes citations, ensuring the credibility of sources.
Artificial Intelligence That Understands Your Needs
Researchers typically open dozens of tabs while searching for relevant sources, then manually copy and paste information, a messy and time-consuming process. Deep Research simplifies this by delivering well-organized reports that eliminate unnecessary hassle.
Search engines frequently miss the mark, forcing users to rephrase queries multiple times in search of relevant information, which can lead to exhaustion and frustration. I’ve personally had to tweak my searches repeatedly, only to end up with unsatisfactory results.
Now, Deep Research solves this by allowing natural language searches. I can describe what I need in everyday language and receive precise results. It saves time by eliminating the need to filter through bad sources or distracting ads while structuring quality information in an organized format.
So, worrying about unreliable search results, disorganized data, or complicated queries is unnecessary. Another best part? It’s built into Google’s ecosystem, seamlessly integrating with tools like Docs, Gmail, and Sheets.
The Future Of AI Research Tools
As Artificial intelligence technology advances, we can expect even more powerful tools shortly. Deep Research is just the beginning. Companies like OpenAI and Perplexity are also working on similar solutions, but Google holds a competitive edge due to its deep integration with the services we already use.
A Google One AI Premium under $20 monthly subscription offers access to Gemini Advanced, 2TB of cloud storage, and Gemini AI integrated across various Google services like Gmail, Docs, and more. It is a far better deal than competitors like ChatGPT Plus or Perplexity Pro, which charge similar prices for AI services alone.
However, Open AI Deep Research is better for in-depth, real-time analysis but costs too much, $200/month. In contrast, Google Gemini Deep Research is more affordable, delivers well-structured reports, and generally provides faster responses than OpenAI.
Recent Humanity’s Last Exam benchmark results highlight AI performance in deep research tasks. OpenAI’s model scored 26%, outperforming Perplexity’s 21.1%, though the gap is narrowing.
However, specific performance metrics for Google’s Gemini AI on the HLE benchmark are not publicly available. However, surpassing other models, it scored 90.04% on other tests, such as the Massive Multitask Language Understanding (MMLU) test.
If your work involves research of any kind, Google Deep Research is worth trying. Its operation within Google’s ecosystem makes it even more convenient. We are entering an era where Artificial intelligence doesn’t just assist us; it works for us. And in my opinion, that’s something to be truly excited about.
