Intel B760 Motherboards Are Expected To Be 10% More Expensive Than B660

Expect 10% Price Increase On New B760 Motherboards!

Currently, both AMD and Intel are competing against each other with their new offerings. Intel is currently offering its 13th Gen Raptor Lake processors while AMD is competing with its Ryzen 7000 series based on Zen 4 architecture.

Not everyone can afford high-end motherboards so most of the users would be looking for budget motherboards to pair with their new processors. The only downside to AMD here is its expensive motherboards and support for DDR5 memory only, even on its mid-ranged B650 and B650E chipsets, while both the B660 and B760 chipset from Intel does support both DDR4 and DRR5 memory.

Both the B660 and B760 chipset will have support for Intel 13th generation chips but users looking for extra features and better IO will have no choice but to go with B760 instead.

According to board channels in Asia, the Intel B760 motherboards will see a 10% increase in price compared to B660. A 10% increase in price might not look like a lot but it will affect the decision of the buyer who might go with the older B660 chipset instead. Even with a 10% price increase, Intel would still be in the clear because the B650 motherboards from AMD still cost a lot more than what Intel has to offer in the mid-range.

With the launch of the upcoming Intel B760 boards from Intel, the blue team may also decide to offer B660 boards at a discounted rate, since both the Intel 12th and 13th generation chips are compatible with either of the mentioned chipsets. Alongside the B760 motherboards, Intel will also be launching its non-K 13th-generation chips, hopefully in the first week of January during CES 2023.

What are your thoughts on the B760 chipset from Intel? Will you consider paying 10% paying extra for the new chipset or prefer settling with the B660 chipset for the 13th Gen processors?
