Assassin’s Creed Mirage has been at the center of the industry’s discussions for the past week. After a premature leak, Ubisoft officially confirmed that more information on the game would be shared at Ubisoft’s upcoming event.
The latest entry in the beloved franchise is set in Baghdad and sees the return of Basim from Assassin’s Creed Valhalla. Assassin’s Creed Mirage takes a more traditional approach to the Assassin’s Creed formula, cutting on many of the RPG elements of past titles.
Ubisoft has finally revealed the first footage from Assassin’s Creed Mirage, and more information is expected in the months leading up to launch.
The French giant has decided to bring back many fan-favorite features from past entries. Assassin’s Creed Mirage returns to the roots of the franchise.
Assassin’s Creed Mirage will allow players to explore a dense and vibrant city. The game will bring a fresh take on the classic franchise while exploring Basim’s journey towards becoming a Master Assassin.
Additionally, Ubisoft has also focused on the parkour mechanics of the game. The RPG trilogy saw a more simplified parkour system for the Assassin’s Creed games, but Assassin’s Creed Mirage is a considerable step up for the traversal system.
With the game returning to a more classic formula, stealth will play a considerable role in Basim’s journey across Baghdad. Stealth was one of the franchise’s foundations, and audiences had longed for a stealthier Assassin’s Creed game. Ubisoft’s upcoming game aims to integrate stealth into the core gameplay with returning mechanics like the hidden blades.

The developer is also working on several other Assassin’s Creed titles. Five brand new Assassin’s Creed games are in development, and today’s event has just revealed a small part of Ubisoft’s plans for the future Assassin’s Creed.
Assassin’s Creed Mirage is coming to PC via Ubisoft Connect and the Epic Games Store, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series in 2023 for $49.99 or regional price. The game will feature a $59.99 Deluxe Edition, which will include “The Forty Thieves” DLC. There will also be a $149.99 Collector’s Edition.
