- Arkane Lyon has reportedly received an extra month to seek a buyer.
- The team now has until December 13 to find a suitable buyer if it wants to avoid closure.
- There’s still no telling what will happen to Arkane Lyon and Marvel’s Blade following a potential buyout.
Recent discussions regarding Arkane Lyon and Marvel’s Blade painted a grim picture. It was said that the studio was struggling to find a buyer, with Marvel’s Blade potentially on the verge of being cancelled.
An update on the situation is more encouraging, however, noting that Xbox has extended the deadline for Arkane Lyon’s buyout procedure.
Why it matters: Xbox has already shut down various studios over the years, but the team is now trying to sell off developers so that they can continue to produce games.

Arkane Lyon has reportedly been given an additional month to find a potential buyer, according to PCGamer.
Following the recent reports, a Microsoft executive issued an official statement, noting that the consultation period for the studio had been extended by a month. Going by past reports, the team now has until December 13 to find a buyer.
While encouraging, this still leaves the studio’s long-term future in question. There’s no telling whether the studio will find a suitable buyer by December 13, or whether Marvel’s Blade will move forward in development under new management.

Still, with a recent team like BioWare being shut down, one less addition to the pile of legacy developers being made redundant would be nice to see in the games industry. Here’s hoping Arkane Lyon is able to find an appropriate buyer before December 13.
