PS5 Emulation Is Now Improving At An Insane Pace!

Story Highlight
  • The KyTy PS5 emulator now reportedly runs Demon’s Souls remake at 10–18FPS.
  • This marks a nearly 10x performance jump, since the game was barely playable at 1-2FPS a few days ago.
  • PS5 emulation could become very functional by the end of 2026 at this rate.

PS5 emulation has only recently begun to show a lot of potential, booting popular titles like GTA 5 and Demon’s Souls Remake. More specifically, an emulator like KyTy has shown to be making rapid progress, and the latest report in this regard is the most impressive yet.

Demon’s Souls Remake, which only recently became playable on the emulator, is now showing a 10x performance jump.

Why it matters: PlayStation is now focused on exclusivity more than ever, so emulation showing this much potential suddenly marks the worst possible timing for the gaming giant.

Bluepoint Games developed the Demon’s Souls remake for PS5.

The latest update on the situation comes from DSOGaming, which states that the KyTy PS5 emulator has seen a notable performance improvement, allowing Demon’s Souls Remake to run between 10 and 18FPS.

Although a video showing this progress has yet to be shared, this is a roughly 10x increase in performance, since the game was barely playable at 1-2FPS in the past. This is still far from ideal, but the performance jump is undeniable.

Astro Bot has shown a similar jump, running at around 11FPS. This means that GTA 5, Demon’s Souls Remake, and Astro Bot are all playable on the emulator to varying degrees.
