- Ubisoft has quietly updated several parts of the original Assassin’s Creed Steam store page.
- These updates include a new banner, an updated logo that resembles the font in Black Flag Resynced, and more.
- Past reports suggested that the team was remaking the first Assassin’s Creed, so these updates could point to an impending announcement from the studio.
Ubisoft’s remake experiment with Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced has been nothing but a major success, encouraging the team to pursue more remakes.
Reports suggest that plans are already underway to re-release various classic Assassin’s Creed titles, but fans are now questioning what comes next from Ubisoft. Recent evidence seems to suggest the original Assassin’s Creed will receive the remake treatment next.
Why it matters: Ubisoft has no shortage of options when it comes to potential Assassin’s Creed remakes, but fans also want to see Altair’s journey being redone.

Looking at the official Assassin’s Creed Steam store page, Ubisoft has been quietly updating the game for several months now.
The most recent updates are some of the most interesting, since Ubisoft seems to have updated the game’s cover image on Steam, replacing the iconic Assassin’s Creed key art with a more modern take on the cover.
The new artwork also changes the game’s logo, with the “Assassin’s Creed” text now resembling the font from Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced. Interestingly, a game like Assassin’s Creed 2, which many want to see remade, has not seen similar changes on the platform.
It goes without saying, but Ubisoft would not update assets for such an old game without a good reason. Making matters more interesting, leakers have previously suggested that the team would remake the original Assassin’s Creed.

With the series’ 20th anniversary coming up next month, the team returning to the very first Assassin’s Creed entry would be quite the celebration of everything Ubisoft has accomplished with the IP so far.
If the recent reports and these Steam updates are anything to go by, perhaps an announcement is also right around the corner.
