Despite the current state of the gaming industry, 2026 has been a year packed to the brim with wonderful releases, and it’s far from over. Now, one of the best releases of the year from IOI has managed to reach a massive milestone.

007 First Light has reached 4 million copies sold in just 3 months since its release. When it was first revealed, many thought the title would be a reskinned Hitman game, but the studio blew it out of the park with a great Bond game.

Why it matters: While other releases this year have done even more incredible numbers, fans were quite skeptical about the game, so this milestone is really impressive, especially with all the wonderful review scores to complement it.

IO Interactive has confirmed that 007 First Light has hit 4 million copies sold. There have even been discussions of sequels. There were doubts before, but now IOI will reportedly be at the helm again, whenever it happens.

Apart from the numbers, fans have even called the title a solid contender for this year’s Game of the Year award. The competition for the prestige is undoubtedly going to be super high this year with GTA 6 coming up too.

The title also received glowing reviews from both the critics and the audience

The prospect of the sequel is quite interesting as there is a lot of room to explore with Bond. Additionally, we saw a younger version of the character, so there are a lot of stories that need to be told, but let’s see when that happens.
