Pearl Abyss’s RPG has launched to a huge 240K players on Steam, which is a big deal for a single-player game. Additionally, it also currently boasts the third-highest player count and is the top-selling title on the platform
Why it matters: These kinds of numbers aren’t seen too often with new single-player IPs, but it was coming based on the overwhelming number of pre-orders. And it could climb even further over the weekend.
On Steam, Crimson Desert has had an explosive opening with around 240K players. While the numbers were expected, it’ll be more interesting to see what sort of reception it gets from the audience amid mixed critical reviews.
The title has divided the media, and it might be a bit too ambitious for its own good. Anyhow, there are many positive takeaways, including the open-world exploration, boss fights, and the general experience.
