The Game Has Made $100 Million In Revenue From The PC Port Alone!

Story Highlight
  • Stellar Blade has sold over 6.1 million copies on Steam and PS5 combined.
  • According to analysis firm Sensor Tower, the action-adventure title has shipped 3.7 million copies on PS5.
  • On Steam, the game has sold 2.4 million units, generating $100 million in revenue and becoming the best-selling hack-and-slash title on the platform.

Stellar Blade has become a massive hit for PlayStation and developer Shift Up. The title became Sony’s best-performing single-player port on PC, selling a million copies 19 times faster on Steam than on PlayStation 5.

Shift Up has also benefited massively from the game’s success, recording a new revenue peak in 2024 and reaching an all-time high in profits last year. New data reveals that the action-adventure title has hit another sales landmark.

Why it matters: Stellar Blade is one of Sony’s best-performing new IPs this generation, and the company should take lessons from its success rather than focus on live-service.

Stellar Blade continues its run as the best-selling single-player PC port from Sony.

According to data from Sensor Tower, Stellar Blade has sold 6.1 million units across Steam and PlayStation 5. The data analysis firm revealed that the game shipped 3.7 million copies on PS5 and sold an additional 2.4 million on Steam.

Players from the United States accounted for the highest percentage of Stellar Blade buyers on PlayStation 5, representing 33% of the 3.7 million users. On the other hand, Chinese players were the dominant demographic on Steam, accounting for 52% of the player base.

Stellar Blade’s PC version has turned out to be a massive hit, with Sensor Tower reporting that the port has grossed over $100 million in revenue since launching in June. Furthermore, the Shift Up title was the highest-grossing hack-and-slash game on Steam in 2025.

Besides introducing Stellar Blade to a new player base, the PC port also had a positive impact on the PlayStation 5 edition. As revealed before, the action game’s daily active users increased by 6x following the release of the PC port.

Stellar Blade 2
A sequel is already in the works.

When you take all this financial success into account, it’s no surprise that a sequel to Stellar Blade is already in development at Shift Up.
