- Ghost of Yotei has now officially sold over 3.3 million copies since its launch last month.
- The game has performed well for a sequel, maintaining Ghost of Tsushima’s sales momentum.
- We may see the entry hit over 5 million copies sold before 2026 because of the approaching holiday season.
Ghost of Yotei’s player reception remained quite positive despite all the controversy, as it quickly became a top-seller in multiple countries. It sold over a million copies in only a single day and became Sony’s biggest first-party launch in Europe since Spider-Man 2.
Now, a new sales update confirms that Ghost of Yotei has officially rolled over 3.3 million copies since coming out last month. This means the sequel has sold a healthy amount of units despite the initial hype dying down after its first week.
Why it matters: Ghost of Yotei selling over 3.3 million copies shows that many gamers have enjoyed Atsu’s story despite the boycott movement working against it. The boycott appears to have had little to no effect on the sales numbers.

Sony’s Q2 2025 report reveals the new Ghost of Yotei sales figures as of 2 November 2025, which means the 3.3 million units were sold within only 32 days after its arrival. The sales line up quite well because Yotei sold over a million faster than Ghost of Tsushima.
To put things into perspective, Tsushima launched during the COVID period without facing any competition. Meanwhile, the sequel had to compete with Assassin’s Creed Shadows and manage several controversies.
Ghost of Yotei is now expected to sell 5 million copies by the end of 2025, with a large influx likely coming during the upcoming holiday period. It would be faster than Tsushima since it sold 5 million copies during its first 4 months.

The community is celebrating the new Ghost of Yotei sales figure on social media. Additionally, the positive sales reception will likely convince Sucker Punch to go ahead with a DLC continuing Atsu’s journey.
