- Assassin’s Creed Mirage is receiving a free DLC titled Valley of Memory on November 18th.
- The new DLC offers 6 hours of story missions in a new region, which is the recreated city of AlUla.
- Other than that, tons of new gameplay changes and side content will be added.
Once a planned expansion for Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, Basim’s story was later told in a spinoff game, Assassin’s Creed Mirage. Surprisingly, the former DLC-turned-game is receiving a DLC of its own, two years after its initial launch.
Valley of Memory will take players to AlUla, a historically rich city in Saudi Arabia. The new expansion offers over six hours of story missions, an entirely new region, and all of this is available for free, with a release set for November 18th.
Why it matters: Assassin’s Creed Mirage was a heartfelt tribute from Ubisoft to its fans, returning the series to its roots. Fans will be stoked to hear that the French publisher is offering brand-new content for the game, all for free.
Valley of Memory takes place right before the conclusion of the base game, with Basim searching for his father in the city of AlUla, located in Saudi Arabia. Described as a coming-of-age adventure, the developers behind this expansion felt it was necessary to tell this story and to visit such a culturally rich place.
The city of AlUla has been lost to time, and only its ruins remain. Still, Ubisoft has attempted its best to recreate what it seemed like in the 9th Century. AlUla will offer a unique contrast between wilderness and urban settings.
Being a hub of trading, the city is also infested with a network of thieves who are more prominent in the wilderness, which is filled with tombs and architectural sites to explore.
This time around, the developers have doubled down on the game’s parkour, adding a ton of new moves and also a free jump move.
In addition to the AlUla region, numerous new activities are also being introduced to the city of Baghdad. Basim’s skill tree and tool sections are also undergoing a rework, along with numerous new changes. Overall, this update is massive; check out the official Ubisoft page for more information.
